Auditor -Hazardous Substance Compliance

QEC is the only IANZ Accredited hazardous substance inspection body in NZ.  We assess and certify businesses to store and use hazardous substances safely. We seek a hazardous substance assessor (auditor) to join our team.

In this role you will undertake the following key duties:

Undertake site visits for the purpose of auditing legal compliance for the storage and use of hazardous substances.

Report writing including but not limited to compliance assessment reports, audit reports, and hazardous substance inventory reports.

Support other consultants with their work.

Apply a working knowledge of the hazardous substance regulations, including secondary containment, separation distances, and hazardous atmosphere zones.

This full time role would suit someone who has an outgoing personality, the ability to learn quickly and enjoys a challenging and varied work environment.  In addition you will be self motivated, able to work unsupervised, produce consistently high quality work and thrive on deadlines and targets.

To be successful in this role you must have demonstrated experience with auditing, ideally in a regulatory context. Formal auditor training would be advantageous. A tertiary qualification in a science or health and safety related field will assist your application but is not mandatory.

If this sounds like a great job but you don’t have all the skills we seek, don’t let this stop you from applying, for the right person we will provide the necessary training.

Whilst the QEC office is based in Te Awamutu, we work throughout New Zealand so regular travel will be required.
