The Class 2.1.1A Flammable Gas Approved Handler course will provide you with an understanding of safe cylinder storage and handling.
This will include the following elements:
Hazards of flammable gas,
Awareness of the potential dangers,
Knowledge of approved handler responsibilities as required by HSNO legislation.
Successful completion of this course and assessments will allow you to apply for an Approved Handler Certificate for class 2.1.1A flammable gas under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.
This course has been accredited by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board to meet the requirements for a technical course for continuous professional development (Course Number: TP 19352-6) and carries 10 points.
The Class 3.1A and B Flammable Liquids Approved Handler course will provide you with an understanding of safe flammable liquids storage and handling.
This course is designed to provide you with knowledge of:
Legislation relevant to approved handler requirements under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms
Act for flammable liquids class 3.1A and B
Controls relevant to flammable liquids, such as:
• Hazardous atmosphere and controlled zones
• Building design
• Signage
• Fire extinguishers
• Emergency management
Successful completion of this course and assessments will allow you to apply for an Approved Handler Certificate for class 3.1A and B flammable liquid under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996. You will also become certified for class 6.1 Acute Toxicants and class 9.1 Aquatic Toxicants.

The Renewal Class 2-9 Approved Handler course will provide you with a refresher regarding those classes, lifecycles, terms and conditions you are already certified for, classifications, hazardous substance management and changes to the relevant legislation. To sit this course therefore your approved handler certificate will have recently expired or is about to expire.
This will include the following elements:
Acts and legislation
Hazardous substances classifications
Knowledge of approved handler responsibilities as required by HSNO legislation
Control regulations
Test certificates
Codes of practices
Successful completion of this course and assessments will allow you to apply for an Approved Handler Certificate for those classes, lifecycles, terms and conditions you are already certified for under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.
