Chemical Safety

This course has been accredited by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board to meet the requirements for non technical continuous professional development (TP19352-3) and carries 3 points.

This interactive workshop is designed to give you best practice concepts for storing and handling substances, information on working with biological hazards such as sewage; and basic steps to take in the event of a chemical emergency.

This course is designed to teach participants about:

    Basic risk assessment for chemical handling and storage
    Assessing chemical risk by class
    Mixing and storing chemicals
    Do's and don'ts of chemical safety
    Safety data sheets
    Personal protection equipment (PPE)
    Chemical first aid, including poisoning and burns
    Responses to small fires and spills

Pre-requisites:

You will need to provide us with your PGDB number if you require technical points.
