Overview

A two day interactive course designed to provide you with knowledge of HSNO Substances and New Organisms Act and allow you to become a certified approved handler.

Learner Outcomes

Successful completion of this course and assessment will demonstrate knowledge of hazardous substances and new organisms act class 2-9 as required for NZQA unit standards 20645 (Describe the requirements of the HSNO Act relevant to approved handlers) and 20733 (Demonstrate knowledge of safe storage and handling of substances in the workplace.

Attendees may apply to become a registered approved handler upon successful completion of the course and assessments.

Pre-requisites

Previous experience with hazardous substances is required.
If you require accreditation to Unit Standard 20645 you must provide us with your NZQA number.

If you are renewing your certificate this course exceeds the renewals requirements under HSNO legislation.
We do not certify pesticides or veterinary medicines.
